Description of Services
Responsible for the oversight and operation of the animal facility receiving mice, Animal Health/Welfare will advise MMPC Directors and Investigators on proper shipping directions, health requirements, quarantine procedures, and transport of the animals between MMPC facilities as needed for required phenotyping. This will ensure the safe and timely delivery of mice from Investigators to the appropriate vivarium facility and that the animals are used for work approved by the IACUC. Colony maintenance, veterinary medical care, and precise health records related to location and health status of each animal will also be provided by Animal Health/Welfare.
Health Reports
A health information form along with serology and parasitology health reports dated within the last 3 months are required from the sending institution for each shipment of animals. Upon processing an order for shipment, the Center Administrator will contact you for these details. This information must be received and reviewed before approval will be given to ship.
